Podium finish in Bristol Dirt Nationals finale

Clay Harris trekked to Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) on Tuesday afternoon to enter his Wilkerson Farms No. 21J Modified into battle for the second annual Bristol Dirt Nationals. After pulling off early in his heat race, Harris was a scratch from his preliminary feature.

On Wednesday, Clay followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a 14th-to-fifth run in his preliminary feature.

Thursday’s third-place finish in his heat race positioned him sixth on the starting grid for his prelim. Losing one spot in the 15-lap affair, Harris logged a seventh-place finish.

With his spot already locked into Saturday’s finale, Clay advanced forward eight spots in the A-Main to register a third-place finish. He trailed Michael Asberry and Kyle Strickler to the checkers with Zach Johnson and Mitch Thomas rounding out the Top-5.
