Clay Harris bags preliminary win in Modified at Volusia

Clay Harris was back in action on Thursday evening at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) piloting his Wilkerson Farms No. 21J Modified for the DIRTcar Nationals. (Josh James Artwork)

After Mother Nature wiped out half of week of action, Harris outran Justin Allgaier in a 15-lap preliminary feature that was delayed to Friday.

Later that night, Clay followed up a heat win with a fifth-place finish in the feature, locking his spot into the Saturday’s $5,000-to-win finale.

Fading outside the Top-10 in the 30-lap affair, Harris recorded a 15th-place outing.
