Harris tops 604 field at Golden Isles Speedway
Clay Harris made the trip to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) with his Wilkerson Farms No. 6 Late Model for the 604 crate portion of the Super Bowl of Racing.
With 54 cars signed in on Thursday, Harris was unable to make the main event after missing the setup in his qualifying session and not transferring through a consolation race.
Friday saw Clay improve as he transferred into the 25-lap main event after finishing second in the first consolation race. Harris gained eight positions in the feature to finish in 12th-place.
With the event wrapping up on Saturday, Harris laid down the 3rd-fastest qualifying lap which set him up for a second row starting position. For the $1,500 payday, Harris charged to the lead and grabbed his first win of the 2023 season. He finished ahead of Jeremy Steele, Jeremy Faircloth, Cody Overton and Hunter Peacock who completed the Top-5.
