Late flat tire derails Top-3 finish at Hendry County
Friday saw Clay Harris return to driver's seat of his No. 6 Late Model at Hendry County Motorsports Park (Clewiston, Fla.) for the Florida Late Model portion of the Swamp Cabbage 100.
With only qualifying and heat races scheduled for Friday, Harris set quick-time out of 22 Late Models at the track and locked in his spot in the A-Main after winning his heat race unchallenged.
For the $10,000-to-win main event on Saturday, Clay started from the pole and led laps before being shuffled back to second. With just three laps remaining in the 75-lap feature, Clay suffered a flat tire which forced him to pull in. He was scored 10th in the final rundown.
