Seventh-place finish with Spring Nationals at East Alabama Motor Speedway
Taking advantage of an off weekend from the national tour, Clay Harris joined the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for the House of Hook Showdown.
With over 40 Super Late Models on site, Harris barely missed the $8,000-to-win show after finishing fifth in a last chance race. Saturday's $12,000-to-win finale was called off due to an unfavorable forecast.
Heading to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday instead, Harris set quicktime among a 24-car field and took home a heat race victory which set him on the pole for the 53-lap main event. With $10,053 on the line, Clay ran inside the Top-5 before slipping to seventh when the checkered flew.
