Harris grabs first victory of 2025 with $5,000 triumph at Cherokee Speedway

Earns $5,000 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series Payday

JUPITER, Fla. (09/02/25) – Clay Harris closed out his Labor Day weekend with a trip to Victory Lane on Sunday, scoring a flag-to-flag triumph during the Hall of Fame Night at South Carolina’s Cherokee Speedway.

The Florida native pocketed a $5,000 payday—his first with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series—driving the Wilkerson Farms / National Fragile X Foundation No. 6 Longhorn Chassis Late Model.

“Man, it feels good,” Harris said in Victory Lane. “We’ve raced in three states this weekend, so to cap it off with a win is awesome. We’ve been struggling the past couple of weeks, but my crew kept working hard, and tonight everything finally came together. Big thanks to Kameron, Chad, and Josh for helping out, and I also want to thank all of my sponsors for sticking with us.”

Harris’ extended holiday stretch began early, competing in the Camp Barnes Benefit at Georgetown Speedway (Del.) on Tuesday, where he registered a seventh-place finish in the $5,600-to-win program.

He then rejoined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Friday and Saturday at Lernerville Speedway (Pa.) for the 57th annual Hillbilly Hundred. Harris notched finishes of 15th and 20th in the twin events, retiring early in Saturday’s $30,000-to-win finale after 77 laps.

The team made a late decision to head to Cherokee Speedway on Sunday—a choice that paid off with a $5,000 payday. Harris led all 40 laps of Sunday’s Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series’s Hall of Fame Night to secure his first victory of the 2025 season.

Complete results from Harris’ first win of the season can be found at www.Cherokee-Speedway.com.

After a demanding stretch of races, Harris will take the next couple of weeks off to regroup and prepare for the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway. Preliminary action on Thursday, Sept. 18 and Friday, Sept. 19 will set the stage for the $75,000-to-win finale on Saturday, Sept. 20.
